Premier Foods’ Mark Rigby receives Craft Guild of Chefs Honour
At Premier Foods we would like to congratulate our very own Executive Chef, Mark Rigby, on receiving the Chairman’s Award at this year’s Craft Guild of Chefs Honours, for his extraordinary service to the association.
Honours were received by 46 members and supporters of the Craft Guild of Chefs. Winners were presented with their awards at a special ceremony, hosted by the association, at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, following its Annual General Meeting. Mark was chosen as the national winner by the Chairman of the Craft Guild of Chefs, Christopher Basten.
Christopher commented: “I was very proud to present the Chairman’s Award for 2014 to Mark Rigby, for his sterling work on the Family Food Appreciation Workshops. His ‘can do’ attitude and an unwavering drive to get the job done made my decision a pleasure.”
Premier Foods is a proud sponsor of the Craft Guild of Chefs Family Food Appreciation Workshops. The initiative encourages parents and children to cook together, improving the standards of health among young people. Running in conjunction with the Lead Association for Catering in Education (LACA), the Family Food Appreciation Workshops see professional chefs going into UK schools to teach parents and children cooking skills. The workshops aim to demonstrate how much fun cooking together can be, as well as how to prepare food that is time saving, cost effective and nutritionally balanced.
