French Onion and Tomato Soup

A great twist on a french classic

  • 150g Butter
  • 900g Onions, Finely sliced
  • 2Q Garlic Cloves - Crushed
  • 1500ml Boiling Water
  • 25g Bisto Beef Bouillon Paste
  • 275ml Tinned Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1Q Black pepper


  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the onions and sweat off with a lid on until the onions are dark golden brown. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes to soften
  2. Mix the bouillon paste with the boiling water and add to the onions. Add the sieved tomatoes. Season with black pepper. Bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, cover the pan and simmer for 20 minutes.
