Sharwood’s Vegetable Chow Mein

Ingredients

  • 1.5kg Sharwood's Medium Egg Noodles (cooked & refreshed)
  • 200g Oyster Mushrooms (sliced)
  • 200g Baby Corn (sliced into 1cm pieces)
  • 300g Mixed Peppers (red, yellow & green peppers, sliced)
  • 300g Onions (diced)
  • 100g Bean Sprouts
  • 1kg Sharwood's Chow Mein & Chinese Mushroom Sauce
  • 50g Spring Onions
  • Coriander to Garnish

Method

  1. In a little sunflower oil, pan fry the onions, peppers and baby corn for 3 minutes.
  2. Add the mushrooms and bean sprouts and continue cooking for a further 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the noodles and cook for a further minute.
  4. Add the sauce and heat through.
  5. Serve, garnished with spring onions and coriander

Sharwood’s Beef Chow Mein

Ingredients

  • 1.5kg Sharwood's Medium Egg Noodles (cooked & refreshed)
  • 1kg Flank steak (thinly cut into strips)
  • 400g Red & green peppers (sliced)
  • 200g Onions (diced)
  • 1kg Sharwood's Chow Mein & Chinese Mushroom Sauce
  • 50g Spring onions
  • Coriander to garnish

Method

  1. In a little sunflower oil, pan fry the beef for 1 minute.
  2. Add the peppers and onion and continue cooking for a further 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the noodles and cook for a further minute.
  4. Add the sauce and heat through.
  5. Serve, garnished with spring onions and coriander

Tips

Using Flank steak, be sure to cut the meat as thinly as possble and accross the grain to ensure it's as tender as possible.

You can also marinade the beef in soy, adding in other flavours, such as ginger; this will add to the flavour as well as making it more tender.

Sharwood’s Korma with Tomato and Quorn

Ingredients

  • 30ml Vegetable Oil
  • 100g Red Pepper  (1cm diced)
  • 100g Onion (1cm diced)
  • 500g Quorn Pieces
  • 500g Canned Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1000g Sharwood’s Korma Sauce
  • Chopped coriander for garnish

Method

  • Sweat off the onions & peppers in the oil for approx 5 minutes.
  • Add the Quorn and fry for a further 3 minutes or until it just starts to brown.
  • Pour in the Korma sauce and the tomatoes and bring to a simmer for approx 15 minutes.
  • Serve with Basmati Rice.

Tips

If you think the sauce is to thick, add approx 100ml of water to the recipe above.

  • 30ml      Vegetable Oil
  • 150g       Red Pepper  (finely diced)
  • 150g       Onion (finely diced)
  • 300g       Mushrooms (quartered/roughly chopped)

  • 1200g    Sharwood’s Red Thai Sauce Chopped coriander and spring onion for garnish

Method

  • Sweat off the onions, peppers  in the oil for approx 5 minutes.
  • Add the mushrooms and corn and cook for a further 3 minutes.
  • Pour over the Red Thai Sauce and bring to a simmer.
  • Garnish with coriander and spring onion and serve with Sharwood’s noodles.

Sharwood’s Thai Red Chicken Noodles

Ingredients

  • 700g Sharwood's Medium Dried Noodles
  • 50ml Vegetable Oil (for coating the cooked noodles)
  • 50ml Vegetable Oil (for frying the chicken & vegetables)
  • 700g Frozen cooked chicken (defrosted and drained)
  • 300g Canned sweetcorn (drained)
  • 1200g Sharwood's Red Thai Sauce
  • 10g Fresh Chopped Coriander
  • 150g Sharwood's Prawn Crackers

Method

  1. Place noodles in boiling water for approx 3 minutes (until just cooked)
  2. Drain the noodles and plunge into cold water and drain again
  3. Drizzle the cold noodles in a little oil, to prevent them from sticking
  4. Place in a suitable container, then refrigerate (at this stage the noodles can be pre-portioned, if desired). The noodles can be held this way for upto 24 hours.
  5. Place a little oil in a large frying pan or wok Add the chicken and cook for approx 2 minutes, or just until it begins to colour, then pour in the sauce and the sweetcorn and bring to a simmer. (at this stage the chicken and sauce can be held in a bain marie for ease of service).
  6. In a separate frying pan or wok, place in one portion of the noodles and heat through, stirring or tossing from time to time to prevent sticking.
  7. Place the noodles in the noodle box and carefully pour over a portion of the chicken and sauce.
  8. Garnish with coriander and peanuts (optional). Serve with Sharwood's Prawn Crackers.

  • Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked.
  • Serve with a slice of lime.

Ingredients

  • 900g Chicken breast (sliced into strips)
  • 300g Homepride BBQ sauce

Method

  • Marinade the peppers and chicken in the BBQ sauce for 2 – 12 hours.
  • Spread out on a non stick baking tray and roast in a hot oven (220c) for approx 15 mins, until the chicken and peppers start to brown.
  • Serve either as part of a main course, or as part of a salad or in a tortilla wrap, with salad leaves, tomatoes & cheese.

Homepride Spicy Beef Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 2kg Beef mince
  • 100g Dried breadcrumbs
  • 200g Onion (finely chopped)
  • 50ml Vegetable oil
  • 2kg Homepride Arrabiata Sauce

Method

  • Place the beef in a mixer and select the paddle attachment .
  • Add the onions and breadcrumbs and mix on a medium speed until the mixture becomes sticky (approx 3 minutes).
  • Mould the meatballs into equal 25g balls (the mix should make 92 meatballs).
  • Gently pan fry the meatballs in the oil until they begin to brown.
  • Transfer the meatballs to an ovenable dish and pour over the Arrabiata sauce.
  • Bake at 180c for approx 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked through.
  • Serve with rice and a selection of vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Vegetable oil
  • 200g Onion (finely diced)
  • 100g Celery (finely chopped)
  • 300g Carrots (finely diced)
  • 600g Mixed peppers (20mm dice)
  • 900g Homepride Chilli Sauce
  • 200g Kidney Beans (canned, washed and drained)
  • 200g Branston baked beans
  • 25 - 7” Tortilla wraps (approx 50g each)
  • 1250g Homepride Chilli Sauce
  • 400g Cheddar cheese (grated)

Method

  • In a large pan, sauté the onion, celery, peppers and carrots, in the oil, until soft.
  • Add the Homepride Chilli Sauce and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add both the kidney and baked beans.
  • Warm the wraps, either in a microwave, oven or hot cupboard.
  • Cover each wrap with approx 100g of the mince mix.
  • Roll up the wraps tightly and place side by side into a large baking dish.
  • Cover the wraps in 1250g Chilli Sauce, then sprinkle over 400g of cheese.
  • Place in a preheated oven (180c) and bake for approx 20 – 25 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.

  • 50ml Vegetable oil
  • 100g Onion (finely diced)

Method

  • In a large non stick pan, sauté the onion in the oil.
  • Add the turkey and cook until all the turkey has browned.
  • Add the Chilli Sauce and cook for approx 10 minutes, or until the turkey is fully cooked.

  • Sprinkle 20g cheese down the middle of each wrap.

Method

  • In a large saucepan, bring the Thai Green Curry sauce to a simmer.

  • 275g Sharwood's Egg Noodles - Dry weight

  • 50g Each of Green and Red Peppers - sliced
  • 50g Water Chestnuts - sliced
  • 200g Bean sprouts
  • 300g Sharwood's Chow Mein Chinese Mushroom Noodle Sauce
  • Spring Onions - sliced, for garnish

Method

  • Cook the noodles in plenty of boiling, salted water for 4 minutes. Drain well.
  • Heat the oil in a wok. Stir-fry the chicken and onions for 4 minutes.
  • Add the cashew nuts, baby corn, peppers, water chestnuts and stir-fry for a further 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the Sharwood's Egg Noodles, bean sprouts and Sharwood's Chow Mein Sauce.
  • Heat thoroughly and serve.

Tips

Garnish with spring onions. Turkey or prawns could also be used in this recipe.

Method

  1. Sauté the paneer in the oil until golden brown.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients, gently stir and heat to a simmer, cover and simmer for 20 - 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Sharwood’s Bombay Chicken with Red Lentils

Ingredients

  • 400g Red Lentils (canned) - washed
  • 100g Onion - chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli - finely sliced
  • 3 tsp Cumin - ground
  • 1 tsp Tumeric - ground
  • 1 tsp Fresh Ginger - finely chopped
  • 1675ml Water
  • 1kg Chicken thigh meat, chopped
  • 450g Sharwood's Balti Sauce

Method

  • Combine the lentils, onions, chillies, cumin, turmeric and ginger with the water in a large pan.
  • Bring to the boil then simmmer for 45 minutes.
  • In another large pan, brown the chicken pieces, then add to the lentils and cook until the chicken is tender - approx 25 minutes.
  • Add the Sharwood's Balti Sauce, mix well and heat through.
  • Serve with Sharwood's Naan bread.

Thai Style Beef

Ingredients

  • 1.5kg Good quality Beef - thinly sliced
  • 50ml Vegetable oil
  • 225g Onion - diced
  • 50g Fresh Coriander
  • 50g Fresh Ginger - grated
  • 100g Spring Onions
  • 2 Limes - juice only
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 800g Sharwood's Thai Green Curry Sauce
  • 150g Coconut Milk

Method

  1. Heat a small amount of oil in a wok and fry the onions for 2-3 minutes, add the beef and flash fry until browned.
  2. Place the coriander, ginger, spring onions, lime juice and garlic into a food processor and blend to a paste.
  3. Add the paste to the beef and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the Sharwood's Green Thai curry sauce and the coconut milk, bring to the boil then simmer until the beef is tender.

 

Tips

Serve with Sharwood's medium noodles or Jasmine rice. You can also make this dish with either chicken breast or thigh meat.

  • 15ml vegetable oil
  • 150g onion, finely diced

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Sauté the onions and peppers for 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Remove the peppers & onions and fry the mince, without oil, to brown.
  3. Add the peppers, onions and chilli sauce back to the beef and simmer for 10 mins
  4. Add the baked beans and bring back to simmering point.
  5. Serve with rice or in taco shells

As a vegetarian alternative use 350g Quorn Mince

Ingredients

  • 225g Pumpkin or Squash - 30mm Dice
  • 225g Potatoes - 30mm Dice
  • 110g Onions -10mm Dice
  • 450g Sharwood's Korma Sauce
  • 225g Tomatoes - skinned, deseeded, and quartered
  • 10ml Sunflower Oil
  • 100g Greek Yoghurt

Method

  1. Cook the potatoes and pumpkin until just done.
  2. Fry the onions in the oil and stir in the korma sauce.
  3. Add the potatoes, pumpkin and tomatoes and bring to a simmer.
  4. Remove from the heat and stir in the yoghurt.
  5. Serve with Basmati rice.

Tips

Serve either with rice and poppadom as part of a main course or in a bowl as a side dish, with some more chopped coriander. Add broccoli for more colour.

Ingredients

  • 15ml Vegetable Oil
  • 150g Diced onions
  • 150g Diced mixed peppers
  • 1kg Homepride Chilli Sauce
  • 300g Quorn Pieces
  • 400g Can kidney beans, drained
  • 10 40g Wraps, warmed
  • 150g Grated cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Place the oil in a saucepan; add diced onions and peppers and sauté until soft.
  2. Add the Homepride Chilli Sauce and Quorn pieces. Heat until the mixture is simmering.
  3. Cover and cook gently for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Add kidney beans and bring back to simmering point.
  5. Fill each wrap with the chilli; top with grated cheese, roll up and serve.

Tips

Serve with a crisp salad. As an alternative serve as a baked potato filling or with some boiled brown rice.
